All further contact will be through my lawyer.
(3) I will be happy to assist the insurance company with any lawsuit they wish to perform against your clinic.

The usual response is that they write off the bill to "goodwill" because they don't want to deal with lawyers (and lose their case) -- they want to keep their fraudulent shenanigans off the court record.

You're right that none of this billing system works -- none of it. The only reliable solution is for the government to provide health care with no billing system at all, as is done in most countries in the world, and in our Veterans' Administration hospitals. Any services not covered by the government (such as experimental treatments) can be offered for cash which forces legitimate pricing.

The system where clinics bill private insurance companies directly has invited rampant fraud by the clinics (which are mostly now large conglomerates traded on the stock market, and paying multimillion dollar CEO salaries).Nathanaelnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7478408299955066555.post-86285047712116056392017-06-24T15:55:19.117-04:002017-06-24T15:55:19.117-04:00Maybe ebix can get into this business.Maybe ebix can get into this business.sgt.red.blue.redhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08132657702786638326noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7478408299955066555.post-42900744533298635342017-01-04T12:25:21.804-05:002017-01-04T12:25:21.804-05:00Lots of great email responses on this topic....her...Lots of great email responses on this topic....here's one of my favorites from an anonymous follower (posted with permission):

I think just about everyone has been through this. I went for a routine physical (free through my insurance) and the doctor bill was $900+ because she diagnosed a condition. The condition you may ask? Male pattern baldness that my daughter (2 yr old at the time) would call a boo-boo on Dad’s head. I went to the BBB and never paid it.Deep Throathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02712515268051858186noreply@blogger.com
